I often refer to my first project working with TimelineJS as one of the hardest of my Carleton career. We were assigned the task of making a timeline of pre Civil War america using images produces before the 1860s and couldn’t use the ubiquitous Wikimedia archive.
Since those dark days, I have worked on innumerable timelines and even taught others how to use the tool. I think that its easy to use, easy to embed, and easy to read format makes it an ideal tool for learning more about DH and that is why I see it as a pedagogical tool as much as one for timeline visualization.
